and these are little pastery balls drenched in honey...I took this photo in a very expensive bakery in kolonaki and the girl told me it photos were not allowed. I found that funny.

Those little pastry balls drenched in honey are a version of loukoumades. Vendors sometimes freak out when you take photos because they're afraid you're going to report them to authorities for whatever laws they "aren't" violating. But sometimes it's just paranoia and ridiculousness.

Philoxenia is hospitality toward strangers, but this is a Greek tradition in recession.
